Chairperson Guo Wei and the BAC/BIAC Delegation Visited the Borneo International Arbitration and Mediation Center BICAM in Malaysia

On the morning of September 26, 2024, Mr. Guo Wei, Chairperson of the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC/BIAC), along with his delegation, visited the Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (BICAM) in Malaysia. They were welcomed by BICAM President Huang Dahua and other representatives, engaging in comprehensive discussions regarding the growth of their institutions and potential future collaborations.

Mr. Guo Wei expressed his delight in visiting BICAM during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Asia-Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG) and warmly welcomed BICAM as a new member institution. He shared insights into the BAC/BIAC development, case statistics, and reform achievements since its inception, highlighting the promising prospects of BICAM as a burgeoning international arbitration institution and the opportunities for collaboration to promote arbitration within the Asia-Pacific region.

Mr. Huang Dahua extended a warm welcome to the BAC/BIAC delegation and expressed gratitude to Mr. Guo Wei, the rotating President of APRAG, for his support. He noted that BICAM became a member of APRAG in 2024, making it one of the latest additions. Mr. Huang provided an overview of BICAM’s background, rules, and case management processes, expressing eagerness to strengthen closer ties with the BAC/BIAC to foster cooperation and development in dispute resolution.

This visit has enhanced the communication between BAC and BICAM, establishing a foundation for ongoing collaboration in dispute resolution. The meeting included the participation of BICAM Director Roger Chin, the BAC/BIAC arbitrators Ma Jun, Jiang Qi, Lin Haoding, the BAC/BIAC Deputy Secretary-General Ruan Na, and the Case Manager Chen Xiao.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
