Seminar on New Mediation Rules of the BAC

Dear Sir or Madam:

The Beijing Arbitration Commission(BAC) is going to adopt its new mediation rules in the near future.

The mediation rules are referred to UNCITRAL Conciliation Rules and the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Conciliation and other ADR rules of some disputes resolution providers, such as the ICC, AAA, JAMS, etc. These rules shall not apply in the conciliation presided over by arbitral tribunal during the process of arbitration. The mediation process set forth in the mediation rules is a separate and different process from the people’s conciliation or administrative conciliation.

In order to perfect the Mediation Rules and to guide the mediation practice in the BAC, we are going to hold a seminar to discuss the Mediation Rules， its fee schedule and its implementation. We are aiming to invite you, with experiences or interests in commercial mediation or conciliation, as our distinguished guest to participate in this seminar. We will appreciate your attendance and your precious experience and ideas very much. If you intend to come, please sign the registration form and send it back to us.

If you can not come, any written advice is also welcome. Or other attorneys in your law firm are welcome to attend this seminar.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
